What?
“Mighty Warrior Bus Ministry” is a local ministry to children, most of whom come from dysfunctional families, single homes, and drug-related situations.  Based on Ephesians 6, the ministry’s name reflects their goal:  to train this disadvantaged children how to be warriors in the daily struggles of life.  About 100 children come to “Saturday Church” each week via the buses, but this number is increasing (praise God!).   You will be helping get kids on and off the bus, interacting with them, and assisting in whatever way necessary to help them hear about the word of God, which is the whole point of Saturday Church (but Saturday Church is geared toward kids--with games, meals, gifts, skits, and, of course, the word of God).

Who?
People who want to love on kids to bring God glory.   If you would like to love on some kids who really need to see what love looks like, then you are strongly encouraged to “do” this as a service project.

Where?
Emmanuel Assembly of God

When?
On Saturdays Bus Pick-up Time   9:45 am (you will need to be there earlier than this, of course; please contact Yvonne Contreras for meeting time, etc. 785-5871). Service 11 am to 12:30 pm Drop off Time    1:00 pm

Final comments:  This is a wonderful way to pour the love of Christ on kids who may not get to see that much love from adult figures in their lives.  Jesus Himself said, “Let the little children come to Me,” so embracing these children is definitely what Jesus Himself would & did do. Also, because this ministry is on Saturdays, there shouldn’t be any conflicts with classes.  Moreover, Yvonne Contreras is one of our Phi Lamb sisters, and this would be a great way to support the ministry that the Lord is doing in such a direct and personal way. You are still only required to do a minimum of 4 service hours this semester (8 hours if you didn’t complete your hours from the previous semester).  The good thing about this opportunity is that you aren’t locked into an all-semester commitment; that is, you could just help out one Saturday, if that’s what you want to do. Direct all further questions regarding this service project to Yvonne Contreras (785-5871)
